Firefighter/EMT-AEMT-Parmedic

The Junction City Fire Department is an aggressive Fire/EMS agency with direct medical director involvement. 

The department uses the following devices 

• X-Series monitor/defibrllator
• Autopulse for mechanical CPR
• ZVent Ventilator
• Saphrire Infusion pumps. 

We have Trauma and STEMI bypass protocols.  Aggressive Cardiac Arrest Protocols.

The department opening is for dual dual-role Firefighter/EMT-AEMT-Paramedic.  The person must have a CPAT score and a valid Kansas or National EMT license.  Previous Frie training is not required.  An in-house AEMT course is provided to any EMT's hired.

The department is made of 24/48 hour shifts with 2 stations.  People after their initial training period will rotate between the engine and ambulance.  We are a City-fire and County-wide EMS agency.  

Located near Manhattan, 45 miles from Salina, and 60 miles from Topeka.  This provides an excellent opportunity for a wide variety of patients.  We ran almost 3400 calls in 2023

The department has a policy of only taking Emergent transfers after 10pm, which resulted in the hospital hiring an outside agency for transfer.  The crews took approx 12 transfers during the first quarter of this year.
