EMS Deputy Chief

Salary range based on candidate qualifications and experience.

The Deputy Chief is responsible for the administration and supervision directing the emergency medical response and operations of the ambulance service.  

Position Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent; 4-year college degree preferred; a minimum of 3 years’ experience as a paramedic with Miami County EMS, or five years’ experience as a paramedic in another advanced life support EMS system.
• Position requires on-call/stand-by work; required to work on holidays; shift work.
• Proper uniform required.
• Kansas Certified Paramedic
• Valid driver’s license.
• AHA, Instructor for HS, BLS, ACLS, and PALS Provider Certification required. Instructor status preferred. Completion of NIMS 100, 200, 300, 400, 700, and 800 and Public Information Officer (PIO) within 6 months of employment is required. 
• Hazardous Materials Awareness, AMLS, PHTLS, and EPC Provider/Instructor preferred. 
• Supervisory/leadership experience preferred.
